Through studying Geography we want to encourage children to become curious and fascinated about our world and the people who live in it. The knowledge they gain and the skills they learn will prepare them well for studying in their next school but, more importantly, will help them better understand the world around them. This should bring them pleasure for the rest of their lives.

We want our children to look at their Suffolk village or town differently and see how similar and wonderfully different other places are. They will be inspired to travel, and perhaps live, in other places in the UK and abroad. At the very least, they will be able to talk with others, with confidence, about places and things that are happening, or have happened on our planet.

Our children will gain a good understanding of things that happen in the world that are natural, but also man-made, and how they affect each other. It will encourage them to make responsible choices to look after our environment and leave the planet a better place for future generations. They will see this as the right thing to do and as living one of the Christian values that they learn the importance of in our school.
